Bioactive algae extracts for the skin

[PLANTTECH • 10.04.2014]

Anyone would like to counteract premature skin aging. Bioactive algae extracts made from Spirulina and Ascophyllum algae are natural active substances which act as UV absorbers and thereby protect against UV related cell damage and light related skin aging. Algae based anti-aging substances from microalgae and macroalgae also act as natural antioxidants, neutralising free radicals and supporting DNA repair in skin cells. They allow the skin to regenerate and renew itself. Benefits such as increased collagen synthesis, hydrating effects as well as protecting and strengthening the skin barrier are also ascribed to algae extracts.
