NOSHAN: Food Waste for Feed

[News • 11.08.2014]

The main focus of his EU project with 12 partners from 7 countries is to use food waste for feed production at low cost, low energy consumption and with maximal valorisation.

The NOSHAN Project Beneficiaries met in Germany, to have their 24 month meeting between 8th and 9th of July 2014, hosted by Partner IGV GmbH, whereas the main topics were focussing on obtaining a deeper insight of the results achieved and follow-up steps for the most appropriate implementation of project objectives.

The first day was dedicated to assessing the technological and biotechnological outcomes of waste conversion, whilst the second day was dealing with dissemination, environmental impact and life-cycle assessment strategies. The Partners agreed to keep up the tight collaboration in order to obtain sustainable solutions for feed formulations from converted waste co-streams.

Finally the partners have agreed to organise the next NOSHAN Dissemination Event with Stakeholders of the Food and Feed industries on 9th of October, closely linked to the Multi-project Symposium “The Best of the Rest” organised by Partner IGV GmbH, this special Event being dedicated to NOSHAN and other food waste related projects     The Best of the Rest
