The 20th International Conference of the IGV GmbH took place on 22 and 23 April 2015. For the first time competence of cereal institute for analytics and technology of grain were bundled with the expertise of the neighboring German Institute of Human Nutrition (DIfE) in a conference. In 25 lectures speakers from 9 countries contributed on subjects with technological, analytical and nutritional content. 100 participants from 15 countries took place in lectures, poster show, discussions and social events.
The conference Buffet reflected the new findings in the field of grain processing. There were represented beta-glucane barley risotto, spelt whole grain muesli, whole grain pasta and gluten-free pasta, samples of micronized wheat bran.
In addition, partners of the EU project Healthy Minor Cereals have been discussing project progress in the effective use of old or underutilized cereals such as emmer, spelt wheat or einkorn.
The partners of the project FunkyBarley from the Baltic Sea countries discussed approaches to preparation and formulation designs improved barley varieties for human consumption.
